September Food Calendar

Alright, this is going to be a short post because my September calendar is a bit different than my norm. I have BY and SK writen in on days and that means different meals on the go.

*Please work with me on this photo/post, as my electronic devices are not working with me at all.

BY means Brickyard, and this is my father’s trip. We go to the NASCAR race, walk the track, stay in a hotel, go out to eat, that sort of stuff. But when we eat and what we do are up to my dad. Yes, I will still be packing food, but meals are my dad’s choice.

SK means work. My husband is a consultant and when he works on prem, I do my best to come with, which means bringing our daughter as well. Our largest vehicle is a VW Jetta Sport Wagon. We pack suitcases of clothes, toys, food, a cooler, sometimes a slow cooker, a Chariot jogger and then we drop off the dogs at my parents’ house, so they need to ride in the vehicle too. The vehicle is full. Full full. I have to get creative with meals at times.

You can see I still have my staples:

  • Sunday Leftovers
  • Taco Tuesday
  • Rotating Veggie Meals on Thursday
  • Last Friday Sushi

Mondays and Wednesdays are family night and game night. Family comes over on Monday evening for a meal, conversation and light games. I try and serve low carb for my guests as this is important to their diets. Wednesday is friends game night. A lot of good tasting food, with some low calorie options are important. I also have meat eaters in the group, so I try to have a cut of some meat for them.

Two things I will take pictures of and give recipes for are my slow cooker lasagna and slow cooker roast.

If there is anything you would like more info on, let me know in the comments. Have a great one!

Thanks for sharing. A food calendar is a good idea. Did you find that you resorted to fast food if you didn’t have a plan?

I found myself in a hurry grabbing snacky foods and carb laden foods all of the time. I snacked until a meal should be and then want hungry enough for a real meal, until it was too late to cook/prepare a real meal. Yes, fast food fell into that realm as well. “Idk, a sandwich sounds good enough”…and that is how the week would go.
