Let’s explore these one at a time.
The family was out on one of our adventures in May 2018. Our VW Jetta SportWagen was packed full, and we were in route from Wisconsin to Stowe, Vermont. Lucas, my husband, was heading to Vermont for training and networking. I was heading to Vermont to experience Vermont! I had not drove that for East yet and was pretty excited! Catawba-Lynn, our young daughter, was going to be adventuring and exploring with me! We had the Chariot jogger packed in the vehicle. Food for not only the travel but also for our week in the hotel was planned and packed. We were off as a family!
Our soon-to-be two-year-old dictated when we needed to stop and stretch our legs. One of those instances landed us at a Cabela’s. I will frequently stop and rest at Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. I have a Cabela’s credit card and I love the stores. The stores (at least the ones I have been to) are dog friendly. When we travel with our very old Boston Terrier mix, Jude, I get a chuckle out of taking him into an outdoor store which allows dogs inside, mainly to allow hunting dogs and the sort to stay with their owners and test equipment. Jude is mostly blind and deaf. He’s not a hunting dog. But because Jude was able to scuttle into the store, we could relax and walk around a bit without the worry of someone doing something to our car while our dog was hanging out waiting for us.
Mother’s Day was coming up in a day or two, so Luke used the day as an excuse to purchase me a Coleman pull along cooler and a 36oz Yeti Rambler. Happy Mother’s Day to me!

I use my Yeti every day. This helps me keep track of my daily water intake. I drink many other healthy(ier) liquids, especially in the morning, but sometimes water is an afterthought. If given the opportunity, I would live on energy drinks and Diet Coke! I had to make it a necessity to drink a full Yeti of water a day. (Like I said, I drink other water and liquids as well, but this 36oz of water better be drank at the end of the day, no matter what). The top handle allows for easy carrying. When I was walking with the Chariot jogger daily, it slipped into the storage pouch on the jogger easily. It is easy to grab and take with on a car ride and on long trips, it holds me accountable for my water intake even if I am on the road.
Want another Diet Coke or energy drink? Why isn’t your water drank, Dianne? In a munchy mood on the trip? Feel kinda hungry, just want something small? If you drank your water, Dianne, you wouldn’t be in a munchy mood and could wait another hour or two before you ate. I tell myself these things throughout the day when I am looking to consume things before I have drank my water. I am not allowed to have Diet Coke until my Yeti is finished (unless we are going out – which 2020 shot down – or I am overly stressed). And I cannot drink my Yeti until my breakfast liquids are gone. And I still have to drink my extra glass of water before I can even start drinking my Yeti…
You get the picture. The Yeti container is not the important aspect here. What is important is, you drink your liquids to lose weight and maintain health! If I do not continue my liquid intake, on a daily basis, my weight will fluctuate, and I will not be flushing my usually high fiber diet through my system. I will feel miserable at the end of the day and even worse the following two days. Take care of your body. Drink your liquids! And it is easier to drink your liquids if you have something to measure yourself on. You do not need a Yeti – pick any container. I happened to get one as a present and it makes me think of my family every day.
What tricks do you have for getting your liquids in? What containers do you use? Let us know! And honestly, have a great one guys. I am really working on having a great week!
